Willaura community supports Conversations Matter

Willaura community supports Conversations Matter

On Saturday 29 March, the Willaura community in rural Victoria took to the streets for their annual fun run. Almost 200 people participated in the 16 km fun run (almost half of their population) with the community event used as a way to raise awareness about mental health and available resources.

Thanks to the support of community member and National Mental Health Commissioner Jackie Crowe, the organisers promoted the Conversations Matter resources on the day and kindly donated proceeds to our program.

We received great feedback from the fun run participants
about Conversations Matter and they were kind enough to share a few photos and stories from the event, some of which you can view HERE.

The Hunter Institute of Mental Health, who develop and manage the
Conversations Matter resources, would like to say a huge thanks Jackie Crowe and all the participating community members from Willaura for spreading the word about our online resources for individuals and communities.

If you would like to promote
Conversations Matter in your local community, feel free to get in touch with the team at the Hunter Institute of Mental Health HERE.
