Conversations Matter set to showcase at national conference in WA

Conversations Matter is heading to Perth to showcase the world-first online community resource to guide conversations about suicide at the 2014 National Suicide Prevention Conference.

The 2014 National Suicide Prevention Conference ‘Many Communities, One Goal’ is hosted by Suicide Prevention Australia (SPA) in Perth (23-26 July), with more than 300 delegates attending. 


Director of the Hunter Institute of Mental Health (Hunter Institute) Jaelea Skehan will lead a presentation regarding the consultation undertaken with Aboriginal communities :


  • Conversations Matter when discussing suicide in Aboriginal communities (Thursday 12:15pm -12:40pm)

Conversations Matter also features as the pre-conference workshop on Wednesday 23 July (8:30am-10:30am).

The workshop is for professionals on how best to engage with and support communities when discussing suicide. To register for the workshop, contact  (limited to 40 participants).

Jaelea will be joined at the conference by Alexandra Culloden and Tegan Cotterill, who will be on hand at a trade display feature resources and information from the range of projects managed by the Hunter Institute.
